So once I get my MBP what should I do first? Reinstall the OS or check the hardwares? And how to do it? Sorry for asking such easy questions since it's my first Mac.

Don't do anything, use your New Baby. OS X doesn't come with all the crap preinstalled that Windows does.
With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)
