I would like to know if 13-inch macbook and the integrated intel GMA 950 graphics would be compatible with all new flashy interface of OS X 10.5 leopard?

Yea, GMA950 will be fine. It's actually pretty good for the 2D stuff (better than the low-end Radeons), it's just 3D (games, CAD) and apps that use a lot of VRAM (Motion, Aperture) where it's not so good.

Yep. Any new flashy stuff will probably use either Quartz Extreme or CoreAnimation. The GMA950 supports QE and CoreImage (the only requirement for CoreAnimation) flawlessly, so I'd assume that it will have no problems with Leopard.

Nobody here can give you an answer because the "Flashy interface" final features and requirements have not been annouced.

It's not really worth asking though because apple would be insane if their new OS didn't work with a machine that's current.

Except that they already have once: the iBook G4 didn't support Core Image for a while after Tiger was released (the Radeon 9200 was just too old, but the 9550 in later models was up to snuff).

G4 Mac mini too, and it never saw the 9550 bump.

I stand corrected. I just think apple has enough sense to not immediately kill their best seller.

With the current Macbooks selling very well, and Leapord only a few months away, I doubt Apple would make Leapord NOT run well on the GMA 950, otherwise there will be MANY new Mac users pissed off.

It should run fine.

No way it wouldn't run on the current hardware you might just not get all the fancy effects.

I agree. The macbook is doing very well.

I woundn't complain if they put in a real graphics card, but that will never happen.
With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)
