Hi guys,
I have a new core duo iMac. It has a 250 gb hard drive, so I took my opera dvds and ripped them onto it, so I wouldn't have to fish them out all the time (I watch a LOT of opera). They're on my computer as mp4s and they play just fine.
Well, I brought a few home with me to my mom's place for the christmas break. I brought them as mp4 files on DVD-Rs. I then transferred them to her computer. For some reason, they won't play without constantly stopping. It won't even go a half a minute before the computer starts working and I get the multi-colored "just a minute" circle.
My mom's iBook is a G4, 1.2 Ghz, 256mb. Is it because the memory isn't large enough? I can't imagine why a fairly new machine wouldn't be able to play these files. I usually rip them by act, so each act is only about an hour long (less than a gig of space).
Any ideas?
