Hi :-)

IM looking to consildate my confusing method of having files all over the place on different macs in different places into a 15" macbook pro

Currently i have a g5 dual 2ghz with 3gb ram and a ibook g4 800mhz

Is the macbook pro upto to the task of desktop replacement, im a little worried using photoshop under rosetta, although a friend uses photoshop on their new imac with no issues at all!

Any help or advice would be great, im hoping that selling my g5 and ibook should almost cover the cost of the macbook pro....gosh id miss my g5 though :-(

:-)

Its pretty straight forward, if you can afford it, the 17" macbook is the best at replacing the desktop, because if it's big screen. But a 15" isn't that bad either, Photoshop does run slower at a noticeable disadvantage, but some people deal with it. Just get as much RAM as you can afford, and Hd space.

the free beta is not really free.
you have to have an active serial number from cs2.and that being said cs3 only works for 2 days after activating it with no key.

I switched from a PowerMac (8100) to a PowerBook (PISMO) years ago and will never go back to a desktop. The MBP is by far the best PowerBook (opps can't say PowerBook anymore) that I have ever owned. Then again, I said the same thing about my Ti PowerBook.

Once you go laptop you never go back

I replaced my dual g-5 and my HP laptop with a C2D 2.16. I use it at home with a Dell 2007wfp. I use Parallels to run XP for the few windows only apps I have to run. I have a few external fw drives I hook up along with an Apple BT keyboard and MS wireless mouse. This is the best solution I have found. One computer and most of my files with me.
