I have a phillips Hd tv i got for christmas it is a small 15 inch but it has a nice clear tv picture. It also has a dvi in port. Would the resolution be bad on this if i plugged my macbook into it using it as an external moniter and also what would be the picture quality difference between using the video adapter from apple and the mini dvi to dvi adapter?

If it's really HD at 15", the resolution should be very good.

The video adapter (composite or svideo) will look like poop compared to DVI.

They actually make 15" HD TVs with DVI input? Flatscreen or CRT? How much? Do you have a link?

It is a flat screen and you can find it at SAM'S CLUB. it should be cheaper than buying it direct.

The resolution is probably 640x480. Not HD or even close (minimum resolution to allow a set to be called HD is 1280x720). It will accept and downconvert an HD signal if it's got DVI.

NO need to spend the extra money for DVI, component will work just as well.

Component doesn't work very well at the higher HD resolutions, but his MacBook doesn't have component output options anyway so it's kind of a moot point.
