I'm, planning on buying a macbook when i get my tax return so i'm trying to do some research ahead of time. I plan on getting a refurb if possible. With that in mind i was curious as to what the difference in battery life is between the core duo and the core 2 duo. the core 2 duo is clearly the better performer, but battery life is important to me. since either one may be in the refurb section it got me wondering about this.

also, while i'm at it, is there any sort of schedule for apple to add stuff to the refurb section, or is it just at random?

for the record i have never owned a mac before, but i have been a fan of osx for a long time.

Welcome. According to this review, it looks like the C2D processors actually have improved battery life while still having better performance.

And stuff is added to the refurb section at random, so getting a good deal just depends on when you find it.
