Hey,

I've managed to get a replacement order for a Macbook Pro from Apple due to a severely screwed up Powerbook 15" 1.5Ghz. I've got some questions i hope you guys can help me with.

1. What would be the specifications of the new machine?
2. How long does it take for it to arrive?
3. What do i need to return to them?

Thanks guys!

Well there's only two stock models for the 15" MPB so my guess is its the lower end flavor, so that means 2.16GHz, a gig of ram and 120gig hard drive. That of course is if they give you a brand new MBP and not a refurbed older model. All bets are off in that case.

longer then a day, shorter then a month

3. What do i need to return to them?
I'll go out on a limb and say the old computer

haha thanks! I was actually hoping for more details actually, because i'm not sure which accessories to return to them, especially with all the cables and stuff..

What i also want to know is that, whether it'd be possible to ask for an upgrade from their currently offered machine, like say if i want the 2.33 Ghz C2d, can i just pay for the upgrade. =)

I doubt you can pay for any upgrades... the machine they're sending you is probably from whatever refurb stock they have. Could be a Core Duo instead of a C2D.

If you're doing this through customer relations... then you will get the entry level 15" MacBook Pro. You most likely can't upgrade. If you ask if you can do this in a retail Apple Store, then you can most likely pay for the difference to the 2.33 ($500).

You only need to return the PowerBook. No cables, no accessories. Make it easier, give em the box.
