After 25 years of using windows I finally tired of the same old, same old. So, I decided to try my hand on a mac and then purchased a macbook ( about 3 weeks ago). I spent some time reviewing vista and decided that it was not going to be the revolutionary OS that I wanted it to be. I've heard of all the resources necessary for the eye candy such as Aero. After playing with OS X for a while now, I know that Vista is not the answer for something new and revolutionary (at least for me).

Using OS X.4 is the most enlightening experience. Despite the limited graphics capability of the macbook (integrated graphics). I now have the ability to conceptualize my ideas in 3d. All resources are under my fingertips at once without worry of crashing. Windows is so 2 dimensional compared to a mac OSx.

I do have to admit that at first I thought, what is so much better than windows? Mac is not easier than Windows. Windows can do this and that, but I soon realized the simplicity of mac os x. Multitasking on windows is easy too. Sure I can switch from one window to another with no sweat on a windows machine. I can even drag and drop, but I can't use various applications at once for the same project like I can on a mac. Multitasking on a windows machine leads to different results. But, multitasking on Mac leads to a full and completed project. Everything just "works on a mac" mean applications work together to help complete any task or project you want.

Now, the macbook (black) itself is any amazing machine. It seems to be running fine at this point. However the keyboard and trackpad took some time time to learn as I have never had a laptop before. I don't miss a bigger display at the moment, The screen is so clear and bright. And, all the little details such as isight and the automatic keys for the display and volume make this machine the fun-nest and easiest to use by far. I can go on and on. This is one amazing machine. I am enjoying it all the way.

Enjoy your MacBook. Some important things to keep in mind when using it:

Don't get put off by the fact that your OS X won't do ________ or your MacBook won't do _________. Most of the time you just don't know how to do it yet, and it's very capable. Also try to embrace the OS rather than make it work like windows. I see a lot of converts try to emulate their windows experience or make things work like Windows did. Try and keep in mind that Mac OS X is not windows and has no intention of trying to copy it.

Lose old habits and you'll be a happy camper

Yes, it does take a different way of thinking, but the learning curve is minimal. The hardest thing for me is the way folders are organzied. But I'm learning and finding my way around. I would just like to say thanks to you all for your helpful and friendly comments. This site has helped alot.
