I've had a 15" AL powerbook for at least 2 years. Now, I'm having some serious issues. It seems almost as if my powerbook is using too much electricity. None of the 3 batteries I have can hold a charge, and two of them are less than a year old. The batteries appear to charge extremely slowly or not at all. When I unhook the AC adapter after a battery finally charges (to over 95% charged,) the computer works off battery power for a only a few minutes and than just turns off completely without a warning. When I restart the computer, I get a message that my "computer's clock is set to a date before March 2001." I feel this problem is not with the batteries (because 2 of them are relatively new) but with either the AC adapter or the computer itself. Any ideas on what I can do?

BTW, right now the battery charge is showing 7% on my screen, but the AC adapter ring color fluctuates between green and orange ever 10 seconds or so, usually at green. Shouldn't it always be on orange when recharging? Does this mean the AC adapter needs to be replaced?
