Hi All,

I wonder if anyone could give me any suggestions to a problem I am having.

I have a 3 year old G4 12" PowerBook, which is having problems seeing whether the battery (about 15months old and as of 2007-01-04 has a 77% capacity according to Coconut Battery) is charged or not. This is after leaving it plugged in and powered on for approx two weeks.

When charging the battery it gets to a certain point and will change to a status of charged, then seconds later charging. It will repeat this ad nauseum.

I have attempted to reset the PowerBook's PowerManager to little success. It seemed to work for one change cycle and is now stuck on the charging/charged loop.

When running the PowerBook with out a battery, coconutbattery seems to show some odd results (but maybe this is because there is no battery

1) The current Battery Charge cycle between 0mAh and 3942342mAh or higher.
2) The Original battery Charge cycles between 0mAh and 67468mAh or higher, up to the 39000000's

Due to the fact that it seems to have had a 77% capacity only a week ago how likely is it that the battery is dead? Is it more likely to be a hardware issue with the Powerbook it's self.

I had planned on buying a replacement battery to test this but there is a 1-2 week delivery wait.

it's probably time for a replacement battery.
