Whenever I'm using the battery, I turn Bluetooth off to stretch my usage. Is there any way to make the Bluetooth automatically turn off whenever I unplug the computer, and turn on when I plug it in?

Maybe through an AppleScript.

Technically possible:

You could combine the utility mentioned in the comments on this page:

macosxhints.com - Applescript to turn on Bluetooth and run iSync

and Proxi:

Griffin Technology: Proxi - Customize Mac OS X
