Still loving my 24 month old 12" G4 iBook. But I do with the screen was a tad larger, better resolution, and quite a bit more speed.

I might be able to convince the wife I need a new Mac laptop a year from now. What do you think are reasonable predictions for Apple's MacBook offerings for approx. a year from now?

CPU speeds/technology? Price points? New features? Not a wishlist, but realistic expections.

Hope this turns into a good thread.

Thanks in advance!

wow how very insightful

I'd hope all machines were on quad cores and the iMac and Mac Pro had had a redesign.

Well, the Santa Rosa chips are gonna get released in Spring '07. That will bring at the very least a new chipset for a new speed bump if nothing else.

I had the opportunity to use a 15" MBP for work for the past week and I just can't bring myself over that hump to get one. It's just too big. I'm so used to the portability of my 12" PB G4.

Crossing my fingers for that 12" MBP with the Santa Rosa chipset. Hoping for LED displays for the laptops as well....
