Hi - I'm a recent PC to Mac convert and am loving life. Even though I have BootCamp and Parallels installed, I don't find myself using Windows at all!
Anyway, on to the less fun stuff. I have a MacBook Pro 17. It boots into OS X quickly enough, but the hard drive is going nuts for a LONG time after I'm actually into the GUI. And if I go ahead and start my usual trio of Entourage (the main reason I can stay out of Windows!), Thunderbird and Firefox, I'm probably looking at 10 minutes from power-up to everything being ready to roll. Obviously something is wrong. It's not like I have a lot of junk installed either. I don't have any app set to auto-start (that I can think of).
Any ideas? Is there an app I can use to monitor all activity on boot up so that I can see what's going on and/or a boot optimization app?
Thanks!
