I just realized that I'm not hearing any fan.
Hmmmm any ideas on this one?

it's not making any sound when you do *anything*? I mean, watching DVDs, image/video editing, nothing?

I find that my fan doesn't usually come on during my normal web browsing, chatting, music, writing with Word, but it'll come on after a while when I am watching a DVD.

Aside from that, the Fans (on my powerbook) usually kick in when the processor is around 135-140 degrees farenheit. Do you know how hot your machine is running?

LOL, problem is, when I dropped it i lost all DVD functions. CD's fine. Burning, reading ok.
But the DVD laser is off so I need to replace that. I don't know how I can tell!

The fan in my macbook pro wasn't keeping it cool, so I bought an aluminum chill plate with fans in it from newegg, and now it's icy cold all the time... even after running several days nonstop. I don't think the macbook pro fans are powerful enough.

FINALLY heard it go off last night! I just can't recall hearing it in the last how many weeks.
It went off when my lap heated it up after a couple hours use.

Guess im ok!
