Hey guys,

I recently noticed, while placing my Macbook in my bag, some dark lines/discoloration on the bottom portion of my Macbook (week 35--white). There appears to be some grey/black horizontal lines across the battery and one across where the ram modules snap into place. Has anybody else noticed this on your Macbook?

That’s crazy, I have that too . I just took in my Macbook this week to get the top palm area replaced. We did not discuss the bottom at all. I just thought it was my Macbook with the lines. They are very faint but you can see them. The palm area was discolored and I have not had a chance to take it in. They ordered the part and called me when it was in, it took them about 3 hours to swap it out. I was without my Mac for about 3 hours. That was awesome. All I have in my camera phone here at work and it won’t pick up the detail. I’ll see if I can get some pictures this weekend.

What kind of bag to you have? I had some grey horizontal lines appear on my Macbook after purchasing an Incase Nylon sleeve. I determined it was a black dye used to color the internal liner. My solution was to turn the sleeve inside out and throw in the washer. To remove the marks on the Macbook I used 90% rubbing alcohol applied with a cotton ball.

I have a targus bag that fits laptops up to 15". I don't think it could be "black dye", because the lines should appear on both sides. These lines are located specifically in areas that have a "high heat source." As I said, on the battery itself, and at the ram modules. And these marks are clearly appearing below the surface.

I agree. I have a STM small alley bag (all black). These also seem to be below the surface and only on the bottom of the machine. Odd... Sorry about the pic's. I had a long weekend. I'll get them up as soon as I can.
