I still cannot listen to the Paul Harvey news --

Paul Harvey - The Voice of the New Millennium

I've tried using Camino, Netscape and Safari. My G4 iBook is updated with the latest software, and working perfectly. I am able to listen to tons of other audio files with no problems.

When I click on the link to listen to the Paul Harvey news, QuickTime opens up, but there is nothing to listen to. I've tried checking the settings in QuickTime, but cannot find any settings to stop QuickTime from opening up.

I've sent numerous messages to the Contact on the Paul Harvey news website, but have never received an answer. This problem started at least six months ago.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Do you have WMP for Mac or Flip4Mac installed and working?

If not, go to: mactopia.com, click on "other products" and download Flip4Mac if you can.

Yes, I do have WMP installed, and it works just fine. When I click on the audio link for the Paul Harvey news, QuickTime automatically opens, even when I already have WMP open. I can't find any settings to stop QuickTime from opening.

I've tried using Camino, Netscape and Safari. Can't find any settings in the browsers to fix the problem either.

The easy to stop the problem is stop trying to listen to the stream!

I just tried it (w/ Camino) and it did the same thing you described. Can you try downloading WMV for Mac to see it that works instead of the Quicktime plugin?

He alreasdy has WMP installed and open and it still opens QuickTime.

I can suggest right-clicking (control-click) on the link, download to the desktop, and right-click the file on the desktop to force open it with WMP. Also make sure you have Flip4Mac installed as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I right-clicked the link, Windows Media Player opens up (I do have Flip4Mac installed), but I always get a server error ..... "The server is not responding." I've been getting this error message for several days now.

I found this link which has some of the podcasts for the Paul Harvey News, but it only works with Safari:

Paul Harvey Podcasts

I wonder why the above link works with Safari, but not Camino, Netscape, Webstractor, Firefox, or Explorer??

I just tried it and the stream opened automagically in VLC. Choppy as all hell, but it worked - in principle

I tried installing VLC, but it didn't seem to work. How can I get the audio link to Paul Harvey news to open up in VLC?
