just about to buy a MBP online and wil probably ask for an international english keyboard (I live in Japan). Can anyone tell me what the differences between the US and international keyboards are?

Specifically I want to know if the international keyboard has the ` (tilde) key under the escape key to the left of the 1.....?
(I use this for window switching within apps on my tibook, which actually had an Australian keyboard. Pretty sure the US keyboard has the tilde in that position too, but does the international? The Japanese keyboard doesn't even have that key which is so frustrating..!)

Believe it or not but I cannot find pictures on the net. Not even the Apple site has images for comparison!

I live in Japan, too. I bought a MacBook in August with the English keyboard option. The tilde key is just as it is on regular US keyboards. In fact, I can't see a difference. Is the MB and MBP keyboard different, I doubt it.

Sorry if this didn't help.

no thats helpful - thankyou - I'm sure the layout between the MB and MBP would be the same .... but perhaps you can confirm you have the international english keyboard and not the english english keyboard (UK) ? maybe they are different?

IIRC the UK English Keyboard has a pound sign (£), whereas the English International one doesn't.

No pound sign here. Here's what I did... I went to アップル then to the store, clicked on the macbook I wanted, scrolled down to the keyboard section and clicked on the keyboard - US option. So, I'm assuming that it's the US or international keyboard.

But again, no pound sign here.

Again, hope it helps.

Oh, meant to say that is all in Japanese. I hope you can read Japanese. Otherwise I can't be of too much help, though the English language phone order line is: 0077-78673-6.
