I bought a new Macbook with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 80 gig HD, and 1 gig of memory about 7 weeks ago.
My problems started almost right way as the batter icon had an X through it when I had the laptop plugged in for recharging and if I turned it off and unplugged it, it wouldn't turn on.
I learned how to reset the power chip and had to constantly do this and remove and reinstall the battery.
I called apple care and eventually they sent me a new battery.
Now it works a little better except now if I have it running on battery power, all the sudden it shows only 1% battery power left when 10 seconds before it showed over 95%. This is after a fresh charge.
If turn off the computer and restart it, it takes several presses of the power button for it to turn on and when it finally boots up, the battery icons shows the appropriate power charge for a little while, and then it drops back down to 1% and the whole thing starts over again.
I am very unhappy that I am probably going to have to send my laptop back to apple for repair when I just bought this thing.
I bought apple because I needed a laptop and heard how reliable they are.
I am not convinced anymore of this.
Does anyone have any ideas?
