How do I get my I book out of hybernate when the monitor shuts off?

I can't figure it out. Then only thing that works is plugging it in.

Thanks

Have you tried moving your finger across the trackpad or pressing a key?

Maybe the monitor shuts off because you are out of battery power, which necessitates plugging it in.

If your battery is almost dead, you can't wake the machine out of sleep (we don't call it hibernate on the Mac) until you plug in AC. You probably just need to recharge the battery.

Troubleshooting a MacBook or MacBook Pro that won't turn on

Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC)

Btw, on the Mac, power management is not referred to as hibernation but rather sleep. When the display is off and the power indicator LED is glowing continuously, your display is in sleep mode; when the power indicator LED is pulsing the computer is in sleep mode.

Ok, so after a full charge the battery is strong enough to boot, open and run for 2 more minutes. Then the laptop goes to sleep. It will be in sleep mode for about four days. The battery indicator flashing one light.

is there a way to revive this bat. or am I SOL?

Thanks,
Z

Is your battery seated properly?

If resetting the SMC (see instruction above) and calibrating the battery (instructions in Mac Help) don't help, your battery is either bad or your MBP is a lemon. Contact Apple Care. I'd try to get them to send a new battery. If that doesn't do the trick you can still send/bring the MB in. It will be covered under warranty.

one flashing light means there is not much battery in there.

you can see there are other lights that make up a little bar.

How old is the laptop? If it is over a few years old, the battery might be useless...
