Hi, I have a few questions about recording music on the macbook.

First of all, where is the built in mic? I have used it but I can't figure out where it is.

Secondly, is it possible to plug your own mic, guitar, or key board into the macbook so that you don't get the sound of the air in the back groung when you record? If so, is there any equipment you need to get to plug them in? Where would I plug them in?

Thirdly, this is more of a garage band question but instead of using your computer's keyboard to record, can you punch the melodies in, like for example you get a sheet music pop up, and just click in the melodies? With some instruments, its very hard to record things perfectly, and sometimes they are off beat. Any suggestions with that would be highly appriciated.

Thanks a lot! Any answers wouls be highly appriciated.

The built in mic is the dot to the left of your built-in iSight. (link)

Yes. You can use either USB ports, or the Audio In jack on the left side. It's the second to last port. (link)

Dunno on the third one.

To address your third question, if you click on the editing scissors in the bottom left, and have a software track selected, you can click the little 'note' icon to get a standard sheet music format. If you record a couple of notes normally, you can copy, paste, and edit notes in anywhere you'd like.
