to 2gb, do i have to buy 2 1gb cards?

seeing as the 1gb ram version comes with 2 512's

my best guess is yes

reason i'm asking = i can get a refurbed white w/ 1gb for way cheaper than a new white with 2gb... however, if i chose to upgrade the ram later it'll cost the difference to buy the ram, then the only savings would be in selling the 512mb sticks.

hrmmm...
