Why are you buying a MBP in China? It seems like the chances of it being fake are a lot higher. Not sure if that's acutally a problem or not.

Really not a problem of it being fake if you buy it from an Apple Store, which as far as I know from personal experience travelling abroad they are the only ones that sell Macs.

The only thing that's different is the removable prongs (US vs Asian vs European).

Yeah, no reason not to buy it in China.

LoL... most American's have no idea about anything outside the borders (or inside either).

You can barely even call Hong Kong, "China." It was a British colony for 100 years, and still remains VERY different from China. Hong Kong is more advanced and wired than most of America. And it's skyline puts most other skylines to shame.

Unfotunately, there are no "Apple Stores" in Hong Kong. But I'm sure you won't have a problem finding an Authorized Apple Retailer. I don't know if it's really be that much cheaper then Australia though.

As for warranties... All "portable" Macs have a global warranty. That means the laptops and the Mac mini. Desktops are warrantied only in the country of purchase.
