I recently acquired a 12" 1.2gHz ibook G4... with a faulty logic board. Does it have to be replaced with the same logic board? - or could I fit a logic board from a 14" of the same processing speed in there? Would any other logic boards fit?

No, you need the 12" logic board.

Indeed, you need a 12" logic board.

There seem to be a lot of dead iBook G4s on eBay with faulty logic boards recently, anyone else had theirs go bad?
