Im dont know much ram, and I have a IBook G4 14 inch, 1.33 ghz. Not sure what ram i need to buy, and what specs I need to look for. If anyone can let me know, it will be greatly appreciated. Also, any recommendations, Im thinking of just buying some crucial ram, but it will be around $112 for 1 GB. Thanks.

Is newegg.com bad or something? Why'd you say "if you're feeling lucky"

new egg will sell anything, they don't have high standards. This is great when you are deal hunting, but not when you want to count on what you are buying.

I have got some great stuff from newegg, I use it regularly. I have also had them just not send me ram I ordered and when I called they told me I would not be charged but that was all they could do.

RAM is also one of those things where you can accidently order bad stuff made by some cut-rate company that will cause you nothing but trouble, assuming it works at all.

I get the RAM for computers I care about from crucial, kingston (http://www.kingston.com/), or OWC (http://www.macsales.com/).

DO NOT get kingston RAM!! for some reason it causes kernel panics in Macs
Signature depreciated.

NewEgg is great. I pimp them in nearly every thread where someone wants to buy something.

I say "if you're feeling lucky" because you're just buying a generic off the shelf part for PCs; PowerPC Macs have a history of being picky about RAM (timings, latency, etc) so it probably will work but may not work at all, or may cause intermittent problems (kernel panics, freezes, etc).

This was true only on certain models and I do not believe it holds true for an Ibook G4. Apple hardware has often picky about ram. It is known that kingston makes a special pricer ram for MBs, since their equivalent spec cheap stuff causes crashes. Aloso, the first generation of 15" AL powerbooks often had issues with all but Samsung ram. Still, each platform has it's own issues and what may be true from a intel mac is likely not true for a G4 ibook.
