Hello,

Well, on an otherwise perfectly funtioning Graphite iBook SE 466, FireWire suddenly quit working. I have run AppleJack, OnyX, 10.4.8 Combo Update, reset nvram and all, zapped the PRAM, and performed a PMU reset. After all this, FireWire drives still don't even show if I boot from my Tiger disc. Any ideas?

What about if you try to put it into target disc mode?
The Firewire on my G3 400mhz stopped working - after opening it up and blowing the dust out, it worked again!

I have read that using really old or twisted Firewire cables can hurt your Firewire ports, but I'm not sure if there's any truth to that.

Target Disk Mode doesn't work either. I forgot to mention this, but the power light on the drive does come on, and stay on, but the drive never mounts. The drive DOES mount fine on my other Macs, though...

GREAT. AppleJack states:

FireWire (OHCI) Apple ID 18 built-in: no valid selfIDs for more than 2 minutes after bus reset.
