I don't know if this is allowed here or not but I am very excited and nervous at the same time. lol. First mac in 6 years. We bought an imac and 2000 for the family but I've been on a Windows PC Laptop since 03 and its starting to crash all the time from viruses and the warranty was up in Dec.

THANK YOU all so much for all your help!! You helped my research emensly!

Just in case anyone was wondering I bought the middle model notebook with an upgraded 120 GB hard drive and iwork preinstalled with student discount.

I also bought the iskin keyboard protector. I have a case I can use for now.

Question, I saw on I believe it was macskins.com that there was going to be an update later this month for macbook skins. Is this the company apple uses for ipod skins and such? Do you think Apple is going to come out with or feature some macbook skins on apple.com? I really want a blue one and something approved byapple so it doesn't do damage or overheat my computer.

One more question. I am going to be using my macbook on the floor since I am disabled. Is macbook ok on a book? That is what I did for my pc laptop. I saw something on belkin.com about this cushtop thing you can use on the floor. Anyone here use that?

Thanks again!!
Amy

Congrats on getting your macbook. I was in the apple store the other day and i saw some nice macbook skins for bout 50 bucks. Im pretty sure they are fine to use but I only saw them in red. Just make sure if you do get a skin its well vented in the right areas.

it's maddening to see that macskinz is taking so long. Decal Girl has a bunch of laptop skins. So there's no need to wait for macskinz to release their skins.

All you need to do is cut it down to size with a sharp knife or razor blade. That way, it'll fit any laptop size.... They can also create a custom size for you as well..

Enjoy your new MacBook!

When I want to use my laptop on my lap when I'm on the sofa or in bed, I go for a RainDesign iLap.

It's a little bulky to be carrying around for travel.

So I leave the iLap at home and put in my laptop bag a RoadTools Traveller CoolPad.

Gah! I know the feeling. Very frustrating
Speck Products is beginning to catch my attention, now that they have a blue hard case, in addition to the clear and red...maybe they'll come up with more colors
I might have to get one until macskinz comes through.
