I bought this iBook 2 weeks ago and it's worked faultlessly. My replacement battery arrived from Apple this morning and since it's been in the machine it's refused to wake up 3 times, so I reset the PMU and next time I opened the lid it kernel panicked! So much for the battery recall improving my life!

I guess I have no option but to take it in to the Genius Bar now. I stupidly gave my old battery to the courier who delivered the new one...

Any ideas anyone?

In general, I would say that a battery is not the cause of your kernel panics. Check the seating of your memory which may have gotten jostled when changing the battery and/or run disk utility to check your drive.

I thought it would seem odd. I've re-seated the RAM, which appeared to be perfectly fitted, and I'll see what happens next. Hopefully nothing!
