I recently decided to purchase a 15.4" MacBook Pro. However, before doing so, I decided to price it out at Apple.com and at MacMall. I would like to install a 7200rpm hard drive, Parallels (with WinXP Pro).
MacMall says they can configure computer with a 100GB 7200rpm drive, 3GB RAM, Parallels, etc., with AppleCare for ~$3,900, however the hard drive would not be covered under the Apple warranty, only the manufacturer's.
Apple.com price comes to $3,523 (160 GB drive and 3GB RAM) and Parallels, WinXP Pro, and a hard drive upgrade would be additional expenses that will bring the total to approximately the same price, maybe a bit more.
From whom should I purchase the MBP? Has anyone had any bad experiences with MacMall?
Thanks in advance for teh advice.
