Hi, I am talking about maxed out, the white Macbook, with all the ram you can put in there. How well, in comparison to a G5, does it run Aperture, does anyone have a graph or something like that, that shows response times or something like that?Another thing I use my G5 for, which I am considering replacing, as I don't think I need one, but that is the purpose of this thread, is Photoshop. I know it still isn't native, but how long do we all think it will be before Adobe launches a universal binary version of the suite, or at least Photoshop?
Thanks a lot, Jess

Hello,
Sorry to disturb your topic with my post. My question is a bit related.
I wish to buy a macbook (non pro). I don't really think for myself I would need a pro since I usually essentially: browse the internet, mail, do radio listening, office, LaTex and lightly Aperture (as photography for my hobby) but also might get rid of it.
Do you think Macbook would be enough for my needs?
Another question is related to Aperture: I wish to sell my Aperture software. I registered it though. Do you think I have legally the right to resale it? (I won't keep any copy for myself).
Thank you to let me know your opinion.

Nicely nested…
Aperture is largely driven by CPU, so a fast processor is the most important thing. Of course, it has some nice gimmicks that rely on GPU, but I have found the small lags that occour (e.g. going full screen) not disturbing at all. You don't have those on a MBP.

Yes, the MB should be fine for casual Aperture usage.
Yes, you can sell your copy of Aperture.

With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)
