I have a Macbook (Black)
randomly one day i was not able to connect to some websites.
i get an error message like cannot connect to server at Example:www.youtube.com
it does this for the same websites over and over again.
there is also no apparent pattern to the websites i cannot connect to because sometimes i will surf google and cant accesss links. it lets me view the same websites over and over and blocks the same ones also.

when i use the network utility and ping the webites i cannot connect to it says "no route to host."
i have no idea what any of this means and the IT people i have tried cannot find a problem with my internet settings.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Can anyone help pls
Thanks

Are you using a wireless network? What you describe happens when the wireless signal drops and you lose connection to the base station.

If you can't ping an IP (if you ping a name you require a working DNS, if you ping an IP you don't) it indicates your connection is screwed up. It's probably not just a wrong setting.

When your wireless connection drops you have to reconnect. Maybe your signal strength is too weak or you have string interferences close by. If you ethernet connection drops it could be anything from a loose ethernet plug, to the cable, hub, or router.

Of course it could also be your Mac, but it's strange that the problem appears with both interfaces. Does the problem appear if you work with a fresh user account? Have you tried an Archive&Install? Have you ran Apple Hardware Test (boot from the install DVD pressing 'd')?
