Hi Guys,

I would like to know if there is any difference between a US mac book pro and a UK version. I.e is the keyboard layout different etc.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the only difference between the UK keyboard and the US keyboard is # vs. £ on shift-3. It's been a while though...

I think also on the US keyboard ~ (tilde) is above tab, whereas on the UK keyboard it's next to the left shift. IIRC on Apple's "International English" keyboard everything is like on the US keyboard except for the location of ~.

Thanks simon.

So as far as you can remember, there is no difference to the power outlet/power supply (apart from the plug of course)

Yeah, the adapter supports both 110/60Hz and 230V/50Hz and switches on the fly. You only have to swap the plug/cable.

I think the adapter also actually pretty much supports any power voltage used in any country in the world with the correct plug. I know apple sells an adapter kit on their website for around 30 dollars that has the US UK EU Australia/NZ and most of Asia and Africa and it's all only tips.

It makes sense for any person making any device to build in support for all the power voltages then just do country specific tips

Here's the layout of my UK laptop keyboard (sorry for the fuzziness - phone camera and a bit dark to be taking decent shots):

Main differences are:

1. £ symbol on 3 key (option-3 gives you #)
2. € symbol on 2 key
3. ~ is in a different location (between left-shift and z key)
4. Return key is on two rows instead of one
5. \ and | key is just above the right shift key (where the return key would normally extend on a US keyboard)

There are possibly a few others as well, but that is most of them. (Oh, the keys aren't labelled caps lock etc and instead show the symbol).
