OK, somethings going on with the search as everything I type is brings back zero results & I'm pretty sure this isn't that obscure of a question.

I'd like to access data off my powerbook from other computers on my home network. Everything is working fine now, but I'd like to leave the powerbook closed (as it will store much better & be safer that way). Is there any way to get a powerbook to run in closed lid mode, without an external display? I've tried attaching a usb mouse & a USB thumb drive. The powerbook turns on, but doesn't stay on that way. Any ideas?

You could try this...

InsomniaX 1.0 - MacUpdate

It just disables sleep mode...there may be a better way to do it but I don't know.

And yes, the search is kinda screwy for me to sometimes.

For the USB trick, assuming you've disabled sleep in the Energy Saver panel, it ought to work. Also, remember that closing the screen will cause the PB to run hotter, so don't store it _too_ cosily!
