if you're asking where to download ms office, that is piracy, and against forum rules.
you may check out neooffice and openoffice, which is open source office suites (shareware/freeware) that is compatible with MS office.

Don't worry, uicandrew just didn't understand your question. To answer:
The program you are referring to, MS Word, is available as part of Microsoft's Office 2004 for the Macintosh. You can purchase it from the Apple store here, but at the price of $150. For a 100% free alternative, I'd suggest checking out NeoOffice, which can be downloaded for free from the NeoOffice website, http://www.neooffice.org (a direct link to the download can be found here.
Good luck, and let us know how things turn out! Oh, and congrats on your purchase!

If you buy software on a disc, insert it and a window should open and it should tell you in layman's terms what to do. If you download software, it will save to your desktop as an achieve of some sort, double click on it to open it and the previous instructions apply.
NeoOffice is a good program and it can be configured to work in Microsoft file types automatically, but stay away from AbiWord, as it blows on Mac.
Good luck, and I have a feeling you'll like your new machine.
