my friend has a 15 inch powerbook g4 and he went to the beach and turned it off befor he left and kept the power cord connected. when he came back he tried to turn it back on and there was no startup noise and nothing on the screen but grey and there are three low beeps and the standby light blinks and then stays on for about 25 seconds and blinks again.. and this repeats. anybody had these issues? and if so what are the ways you fixed the problem. thanks.

I think that means a RAM issue and since this is a 15" PowerBook it would fit the bill perfectly. If he has two sticks of RAM, tell him to remove the one from the bottom slot or if he just has one stick, tell him to move it to the top slot.

The failure of the bottom RAM slot is covered by Apple and will be fixed for free.
