So I got my new macbook in today and it's great

The thing is, I bought some 3rd party ram (omni) and now it makes an odd noise upon startup. I don't think this happened the 1 time I started her up before installing the ram but I'm not quite sure.

Does your macbook make a noise (not from the speakers) when it's started up or is it just mine?

What kind of noise is it? Does it kind of sound like something is moving and then it stops? and then does the noise happen when you wake it from sleeping also? If so, my macbook also makes those noises and I believe are completely normal. If not, I'm not sure, maybe you could explain the noise better.

Yeah, I tested it and it also does it when it wakes from sleeping and I'm beginning to think it's normal for a macbook I was just worried because I had some problems with the ram at first (I didn't push it in all the way)

If its the noise i think it is, its the DVD drive!!!! Nothing to do with the ram!

I also hear the DVD drive sound right after pressing the power on button. I havent noticed such sound while waking from the sleep mode. But I will check again on it.

That is the sound of your macbook saying hello. It sounds a little like a C chord followed by a symphony of servos.
