I upgraded to new MacBook and trying to install 10.4 on my old iBook (700 mhz), using my MacBook's cd's. I tried the FireWire way targetting one then the other, but it's not happening, it's as if the iBook's doesn't meet some of the necessary requirememnts for 10.4.

Am I missing something?

The disks that come with your MacBook are the Intel versions of the OS and apps. They will not work with a PPC Mac.

You can't do this. For some time the install discs have been machine type specific. I doubt that the Intel install discs even contain the PPC code.

I think Apple does home licensing for 3-4 copies of OSX that is cheap - sounds like that is what you need.
