Is it possible to replace the entire outside case of an iBook like when the ibook is closed the top part where the apple lights up.. that is the main thing i would like to replace, just the plastic if possible. or do i need to purchase an entire new screen?

I dunno. It doesn't seem like something apple can do for you. you need to find someone who can take it apart.

Everything comes apart on an iBook (insert evil laugh here).

Yes, it's very straight forward and the most common way people mod their iBooks. You can even pop a little piece of colored paper behind your apple and make it glow fun colors. Shoot me a PM if you need help finding the tools or instructions.
