Ok so im new to the mac world, but my question is I bought a iBook and when i first got it, it needed to be updated but before i did the security update i was playin around with it listening to music (iTunes worked fine)

then after i did the security update i tried to load itunes and as soon as i click on it on the bottom task bar it bounces and then the pinwheel comes up but i never loads and when i ctrl click it it says "Application Not Responding" and i have to force quit it, any ideas. thanx for help in advance.

Dowload a fresh copy of iTunes and install it. If you're missing a critical file, it will install it.

Launch Applications/Utilities/Console before launching iTunes. Do any new messages appear there?

(your question's not iBook specific, so I'd suggest the Software forum as a more appropriate place to ask).

Try deleting iTunes and all the iTunes preference files (with iTunes in their names) in <your user folder>/Library/Preferences. Then reinstall iTunes. If it still fails, something may be corrupted in your iTunes music library. If so, go to the Music folder in your user folder and rename the "iTunes" folder where your music is contained to something else (doesn't matter what). Then start iTunes. iTunes should ask or create a new music folder automatically. If this does work, just move all your music to the new iTunes folder.
