Hopefully you didn't look at the title of this post and think Yahooy! Here's the answer to my ibook problems!
I looked around this portion of the site and noticed all the questions about various issues (which is the reason for the troubleshooting section, of course). I thought it would be cool if there were a thread where anyone could post their success' with ibook or macbook repair. Please feel free to mention those here.
Any common issues that have been overcome posted here might alliviate a lot of duplicate questions and responses throughout this portion of the board by providing a homebase which would answer common questions.
For example: I know there are various ways, with various ibooks, to shim the boards but I've never found a definative thread detailing which boards need shimming or where exactly on the board to shim 'em.

but that only covers dual usb ibooks (which is fine and GREAT INFO). But what about boards that commonly go dead?
