any thoughts on this projector issue?

I hook my MBP C2D to out Mac users group projector and it renders the OS and mouse useless. basically it locks the system up. My friend hooks up his Macbook and everything works smoothly. I am confused. We tried a couple of different MBP's and got the same results.

Do you use the "detect display" thing or just manually adjust the resolution for the projector?

I assume if it is at you mug it works with other, apples? Could be a model wide problem - it is probably worth calling Apple, it might be a faulty driver they don't even know about.

When you disconnect the projector, is the machine completely frozen?
