Alright, I just got a Macbook yesterday, (its got 512RAM and 80 Gig HD), and I was thinking of picking up world of warcraft, so I figured I should probably grab the 1 Gig of ram for now (i'll go for 2 down the road) and i'm looking at the site for the store where I bought this, and theres two sets for 1 GB.

1GB Kit (2 x 512MB) 200 Pin DDR2-667 PC2-5300 64x64 CL5 1.8V SODIMM (Lifetime Warranty) for 98.95

and

1GB Kit EconoRAM (2x512MB) 200 Pin DDR2-667 PC2-5300 CL5 1.8V SODIMM (1 Yr War) for 85.95

Now is that price difference just because of the warranty, or is there something more likely to go wrong, or less performance from the EconoRAM?

To answer your question, it's probably a difference in testing (the former is more rigorous) and of course the warranty.

Two other things: Those prices are pretty high, and I'd really encourage you to stretch the budget a bit and go to 2GB now. Swapping 2x256 for 2x512 now and 2x512 for 2x1024 later is annoying and a lot of low-end RAM to sell.

Crucial (a great brand; better, in my opinion, than the Kingston you're looking at) has a 2x1GB kit for your MacBook for $132... if you can't stretch to that, they also have a 2x512MB kit for $68.

Umm... BlackBook is internally identical to the white MacBook. RAM from any of Apple's Intel Macs, save the Mac Pro, will work in any other Intel Mac.

Alright xD its just the page he gave said it was for 1.83Ghz white macbook, so I had went and put it in for the black book.

Anyways, I think i'm just going to buy 2 gigs of ram from my local store, its like 170, but it would be almost as much online anyways, because I can't wait more than a day for something to ship. I'm impatient this week.
