How?

I want to have my cell phone (motorola razr) make a phone call some my new macbook can access the internet?

Any ideas anyone? Oh and btw, its verizon

I have a RAZR that I sync with the Address Book and iCal via Bluetooth. Here is what the device configuration says about it:

There is the option to connect either by some dial-up connection (which tells me it will act as a wireless modem) or directly via GPRS or 1xRTT. In either case you will need either a dial-up ISP or some data package from your provider who can hook you up with the right information.

Just to add some good news to my last response...

I configured my RAZR as a wireless modem via Cingular, and it works even without a specific data package; instead I get charged $0.01/KB using the data service "a la carte."

I'm not exactly sure how to do it, but I have heard of people doing it before. But beware, Verizon is famous for disabling cool features that the phones are capable of, so you might need to do some kind of hacking (of your phone that is).

It definitely can be done (Barefeats has a good discussion of the basics). For anything more than very limited use, you'll need to get a data plan though, or your bills will quickly become ridiculous.
