I bought two 1GB ram modules from crucial.com and installed them on my macbook. When I took out one of the 1GB Ram chips and installed the originally 512 MB ram chips it worked fine and recognized 1.5 GB of ram. I then swapped out the 1GB ram chips and it worked the same. I reinstalled the two 1 GB ram chips and the macbook just stays in a black screen with a flashing indicator light on the right corner of macbook. Has anyone had this problem and if so, please help!

Have you also tried swapping out the ram chips to different slots?

It most likely means that one of the 1gb sticks of RAM is faulty.

Sounds like it is a job for Crucial's excellent warranty.
