I just replaced my old superdrive that was not working with a new one that I ordered from OWC. On the top surface of my PowerBook where ones right palm would rest, on the front corner of the case, had an issue. The flat surface had loosend up and would move up and down with pressure. I believe this had something to do with my drive failing, as when I removed it I could see from the case that it had a convex shape inward. Anyway, the black part that clips on the front of the drive where the disk enters was also bent and I had a hard time getting it to sit right on the new drive. I ended up super glueing the case together and this worked quite well, only one small problem. A bit of the glue ended up on the dust screens where the disc enters the drive and as it dried it hardend up. Now, whenever I eject a disc it is met with a slight resistence causing the disc to not come out as far as it should without being pulled.
Is this a problem? I would hate to have any further issues with my PB. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks, -Chris PowerBook Ti 1ghz
