Hi there,

I have a Powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4.3. Is there an option to upgrade the OS? I would like to run Adobe CS3 suite but I need 10.4.9 to run. I have downloaded 10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6, 10.4.7, 10.48, and 10.4.9 (ALL PPC) update files but when I attempt to install, I am told my system does not meet requirements.....My automated software update app tells me there are no updates available. Can I update or not? What version should I be running? I am confused. Surely Apple would not limit my ability to upgrade in order to run CS3? I am running a PPC machine right? or not....?? ANy help much appreciated. If you could email me at va@mocquery.com or post response here. Thanks Mocquery

Just use the Software Update option from the Apple menu, or download the 10.4.9 Combo Updater. There will be a large number of other updates to download as well; may as well get all of them and this is best done with Software Update.

Get them all - your machine will be snappier most likely.

Hi guys, thanks for replies so far.

Apple updater reports no updates available. I have downloaded all update files manually from Apple but when I attempt to install, the target volume (my hard drive) apparently does not meet requirements? Does anyone know why? My Powerbook is about 3 years old. 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD.

Thanks Mocquery

sounds like something is wrong with your 10.4.3 system; perhaps an archive & install? (backup first!)

do this, then visit software update, and u should be good...
