I just bought a VIZIO VX32L today and am very happy with it, but i am having trouble getting it to display everything on the screen of my Mac when i connect it using a DVI- to HDMI connector, and by everything I mean the bar across the top with the apple logo. I have changed the resolution multiple times and have been unable to get it to work. I hope someone will be able to help me fix this, and thanks in advance.

Your Vizio is overscanning, something that a lot of TVs do.

Buy a TV that maps pixels 1:1.

Does'nt "detect display" detects the proper resolution? We tried 1368x720 and it worked alright on our 32"

Uh...are you trying to mirror or span the desktop? If you are spanning the desktop, unless you change the location of the menu bar, it will never be seen on the external display.

I finally got it to work. Though the display does not fill up the entire screen, the Mac seemed to select overscan by default which was causing my problem. Thanks for all your help.
