I already have a configuration on the HD from the 12", I would like to know if it will fit first of all, and run normally on either a 15" PowerBook or Macbook Pro.

Will it fit? Yes it will, it's a 2.5" industry standard drive.
Will it work? In the PowerBook: Yes, it's a PPC. In the MacBook: No, it's an Intel.

D'Espice got the right answers but the wrong reasons.
It will work in any PowerBook because all PowerBooks use ATA/100 (also known as UATA, PATA, or ATA-6) drives. It won't work in any MacBook because all MacBooks use SATA drives.

Well, I wouldn't call it the wrong reasons. He clearly says that he already has a running configuration and simply wants to take it out, plug it in and continue running the existing configuration (at least that's how I understand what Sub said). I have to admit that I forgot about the SATA thing, my bad. However the running configuration will not boot on an Intel *book, that's what I actually meant.
