Just a couple a days ago I noticed = when I close the lid [this is after I clolse programs and disconnected from airport]. About a 15 sec the sleep light comes on for only about 25 sec. then a click drive sounds like a spin on and at same time sleep light goes out then after about 20 sec. all is quiet and sleep light comes back on. and unless I shut down the on and off keeps up all night.

It is under warrenty and the Apple store is only a few miles away - I had just visited them a week ago as I was having trouble with key 9,o,l,. - well magic hands of Genius Jamie during a reboot solved the problem.

But do not believe that problem has anything to do sleep, awake routine.

Any ideas?

Went to power control and set it at custom and 1 minute save time and leaving the lid open it goes to sleep and after many minutes still no sound from drive but once I close the lid back to the same on and off routine. -

At this time I will just leave the lid up and let it put it self to sleep - not a real problem just one I find interesting.

Thanks for reading.

Does it do this with all accounts, or just this one? Try setting up a new user account, and see if it does this. If not, then you have messed up your power control somehow, if so, it is likely a hardware issue, and you should get it checked out in case it is symptomatic of something else on the fritz.

While waiting for my appointment I did a software update at thed store and by the time the genius spoke to me [just like when one takes in a car because of a certain noise] the problem did not raise is ugly head. Did the update or was it the sacre of seeing the doctor that caused the remission? Now no problem with sleep at home base either.
'all's well'
