I have a 1st (Core 1 Duo) Gen MacBook Pro and I was wondering if anyone knows what class the bluetooth in it is. Apple says it's 2.0+ EDR, but that doesn't include the class info. Class 1 runs 100m, and there are $35 USB adapters that support this range, although right now there really aren't any devices that support it. However, they are coming. For more info on what all this means, see the Wikipedia entry for Bluetooth.

Does anyone know? Thanks!

Bump.

For more clarification, my Mac Pro says "Class 1" in Apple System Profiler, but the MacBook Pro doesn't have an entry for class. That said, I don't know for sure that the Mac Pro really has Class 1 Bluetooth and maybe it means something else. Does anyone know what machines, if any, support Class 1 Bluetooth?

It would be the same as the Mac Pro.

Interesting, I wonder then why Apple System Profiler shows different information for each then.
