I hooked up my camera to the G5 desktop and downloaded 52 pics to iphoto. No problem. When finished, I dragged the icon labeled no name to trash and unhooked my camera . When I Followed this step by step opperation on the laptop (13") all went well until I looked for the icon to drag to trash . There was none. All my icons are on my right side of the screen and dock at the bottom. But no icon for the camera to be found. I hit eject , shut my camera off and pulled the usb from the laptop. Has anyone had this prob ? if so what was your solution ? Thanks

On my laptops (MacBook & MacBook Pro) I never get an icon on the desktop. When I'm done I just turn off the camera.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

What bersion of iPhoto on each computer? Are they the same? On mine, with the latest iPhoto (7? -- I can't keep up!), the icon is in the left pane of the app rather than on the desktop. Could that be it?
